Attend an author talk
An author talk is a short live conversation where a writer introduces their work, reads or explains a theme and then answers audience questions. It usually ends with a book signing or meet-and-greet, giving you a chance to get a signed copy and a brief word with the author. Choose the right venue for your aims: local bookshop or library events are often free or low-cost and intimate; festivals and theatre venues offer headline names but can be ticketed and busier.
