Build a personal portfolio website

Build a personal portfolio website.

Decide what you want the portfolio to do and who will visit it before opening a builder. Choose one clear purpose (get hired, win freelance work, show research) and four to six representative projects that demonstrate the skills you want to use next. For each project create a short case study: the brief or problem, your specific role, key constraints, decisions you made and measurable outcomes or learnings. Link to live demos and source repositories when possible, or provide architecture diagrams and walkthroughs for non-visual work. Select a simple, maintainable platform and a memorable domain. Static hosting (GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel) keeps ongoing costs low and reduces maintenance; visual builders (Framer, Wix Studio) speed design but can add subscription costs. Prioritise performance, accessible markup and mobile-first layout so hiring managers and screens with assistive tech can use the site easily. Publish contact details and a single call to action (email, schedule a meeting, download CV). Keep the site updated: replace older projects, pin key repos, and check links and accessibility every few months so the portfolio stays accurate and useful.
