Create a comic book together

Decide on a short story or scene and divide the work into clear roles: writer, thumbnail artist, penciller, colourist and letterer. Use a simple script (one sentence per panel) and thumbnail pages to plan pacing before committing to finished art. Work at a comfortable, repeatable page size (for beginners, 6–12 interior pages works well). Use inexpensive materials or free digital tools for drawing and layout; reserve an hour for an initial planning session and then one or more focused drawing sessions to complete pages. When pages are finished, choose simple, clear lettering and assemble files for either in-home printing (staple or saddle-stitch) or a print-on-demand service. For public sharing or sale, export interior pages as print-ready PDFs with 300 DPI, 0.125" bleed and a safe zone for text as recommended by printers. Finish by adding a cover, short credits and a clear agreement about who may share, distribute or sell copies. Display or bind copies for the family and keep editable digital files so the group can revise or expand the story later.
