Join a Community Litter Pick

A litter pick changes a familiar path in real time: the verge reappears, the stream edge clears and a bag fills with the small things everybody had learned to look past. The result is modest, visible and shared. Join an organised community session or agree collection and disposal arrangements with the landowner or council. The worthwhile version includes the unglamorous final stepāsorting or leaving filled bags exactly where the organiser has arranged for them to be collected. Wear gloves and sturdy shoes, work where traffic and terrain are controlled, and never handle needles, chemicals, asbestos, dead animals or unidentified sharp objects. Mark or report hazardous waste to the organiser or council instead. Count it complete after one full organised session and safe disposal of what your group collected. Add it if you would like to leave a piece of your own neighbourhood unmistakably better than you found it.
