Make a balloon animal

A colourful balloon model being shaped from long twisting balloons.

One long balloon begins as a squeaky line under pressure. A few measured bubbles, two lock twists and a final bend later, four legs and a pair of ears appear as if the animal had been waiting inside it. Balloon modelling is mostly pressure management: leave an uninflated tail, keep bubbles even and hold earlier twists so they do not unwind. A one-balloon dog teaches the basic moves that later become flowers, hats and stranger creatures. Inflate modelling balloons with a hand pump, never by mouth, wear eye protection while learning and check for latex allergy before giving one away. Collect every burst fragment immediately and keep uninflated or broken balloons away from young children and animals because they are a serious choking hazard. Count it complete when one recognisable animal stays twisted together long enough to hand over or display. Add it if you enjoy learning a small piece of practical magic that can still begin with a lopsided dog.
