Order Room Service

Order Room Service

Stay in your dressing gown, open the menu and turn the hotel room into a private restaurant. A trolley arrives with proper plates, metal covers and a breakfast you did not have to cook. Even a club sandwich feels faintly cinematic when somebody wheels it past the bed. Room service grew with the modern luxury hotel because it offered privacy, convenience and service outside the dining room. Today it ranges from a limited late-night menu to full in-room dining with table settings. The pleasure is partly the food and partly the temporary suspension of ordinary chores: no queue, no washing-up and no need to look presentable. Check service hours, delivery or tray charges and any discretionary service charge before ordering. Ask about allergens as carefully as you would in the restaurant, make space for the tray and find out how the hotel wants it collected afterwards. One breakfast in bed is enough to complete this properly. Add this to your list for a small, shameless holiday indulgence.
