Sit in the Outdoor Jacuzzi at Iglu-Dorf Hotel in Switzerland

Change into swimwear while surrounded by snow, step outside into freezing Alpine air, then lower yourself into a steaming hot tub with mountains all around you. That contrast is the whole point: warm water, cold air, snow underfoot and a winter landscape that would normally have you reaching for another layer. At Iglu-Dorf Zermatt, the whirlpool sits at 2,727 metres with views towards the Matterhorn; Swiss Iglu-Dorf locations at Gstaad and Davos Klosters also offer hot-tub facilities. Iglu-Dorf rebuilds its snow hotels each winter, creating accommodation, restaurants and communal spaces from snow and ice. The jacuzzi is part of the wellness side of an overnight stay rather than a standalone public spa: hotel packages include use of the public whirlpool and/or sauna depending on location, alongside fondue, a night walk or snowshoe trek and breakfast. For the strongest version of the experience, Zermatt is hard to beat because the Matterhorn is visible from the whirlpool itself. The 2026–27 Zermatt season is scheduled from 19 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, with Gstaad and Davos Klosters operating over similar winter periods. Bring swimwear and flip-flops alongside serious winter clothing, and remember that these are high-altitude mountain locations reached under specific arrival arrangements. Add this to your list and sit in hot water surrounded by enough snow to make the whole idea seem faintly ridiculous.
