Go skinny-dipping

There is a brief decision at the water's edge, then cool water and open sky replace the usual barrier of fabric. In the right place, with the right company, skinny-dipping feels less like a stunt than a clean, uncomplicated kind of freedom. Choose a private setting where everyone present has freely agreed, or an established clothing-optional beach where nudity is lawful and expected. Never expose unwilling bystanders, take photographs without explicit permission or confuse seclusion with permission to trespass. Use normal open-water precautions: check currents, temperature, water quality and local restrictions; go with a trusted person, enter gradually and stay close to an easy exit. Avoid alcohol, night swimming and unfamiliar water, and cover up before returning to ordinary public space. Count it complete after a safe, consensual nude swim in a place where it is permitted. Add it if shedding one familiar layer might help you feel briefly more present in your own body and the water around it.
