Swim at Victoria Falls from the Zambian side

Victoria Falls dropping into a deep gorge between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The Zambezi widens, gathers speed and then vanishes into spray. In the right low-water conditions, the controlled swim at Devil's Pool brings you close enough to feel that scale through water and rock rather than only from a viewpoint. The original title is geographically misleading: Victoria Falls spans Zambia and Zimbabwe, but the recognised Devil's Pool experience is reached through Livingstone Island on the Zambian side. It is seasonal and exists only when water levels allow managed access. Never attempt to swim independently anywhere at the falls. Use the authorised guided route, confirm current opening and eligibility, obey every instruction and accept cancellation when river, weather or border conditions change; ordinary swimming ability does not make uncontrolled water at this site safe. Count it complete after entering the designated pool and returning with the authorised guide under officially open conditions. Add it for a future low-water journey, not as permission to improvise when access is closed.
