Try a HIIT Class

High-intensity interval training, or HIIT, alternates short bursts of hard work with recovery periods. A class packages that simple idea into a fast-moving group session, usually mixing cardio and bodyweight or weighted exercises. It suits anyone curious about a concentrated workout where the instructor sets the pace and keeps the room moving. Expect a warm-up, several timed rounds and a cool-down. Exercises vary, but squats, lunges, presses, short runs, bikes, rowing machines or simple floor movements are common. Effort should be relative to your fitness: use the easier variation, lighter weight or longer recovery offered by the instructor instead of chasing someone else's speed. Choose a beginner-friendly class and tell the instructor about injuries, health conditions or recent inactivity before starting. Wear supportive trainers, bring water and leave enough space to move safely. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness or unusual breathlessness; very vigorous exercise is not the place to ignore warning signs. Most classes take 30 to 60 minutes. Complete the activity by attending one full instructor-led HIIT class, including its warm-up and cool-down, and learning at least one scaled version you could use next time.
