Visit the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, France
Notre-Dame is familiar before you arrive, yet the restored interior changes the encounter: pale stone, coloured light and the knowledge that fire, craft and five years of patient work now sit inside the same view. Approach it first as an active cathedral, then as architecture and history. Walk the exterior and, when visitor access is open, follow the interior route slowly enough to notice the nave, chapels, sculpture and evidence of restoration rather than treating the doorway as the finish line. Check current opening and service information shortly before visiting, expect security and queues, dress and speak respectfully, and never buy unofficial access to the main cathedral. Worship and special events can restrict sightseeing without notice. Count it complete after seeing the cathedral from outside and visiting the main interior when it is lawfully open; climbing a tower is not required. Add it if you want to stand inside a monument whose survival is now part of its history, not separate from it.
