Visit Lebanon

Keep Lebanon in view for a safer future: Beirut's seafront and neighbourhoods, Baalbek's Roman temple complex, mountain villages, cedar landscapes and a food culture built around long shared tables explain why the country matters to travellers. Those attractions cannot be separated from present conditions. In 2026 the FCDO advises against all travel to parts of Lebanon and against all but essential travel to other areas, with continuing conflict, airstrikes and severely limited consular support in places. Leisure travel is not currently a defensible way to complete this goal. Do not book or attempt the activity while official advice remains at that level. Follow FCDO updates, wait for a sustained improvement and reassess routes, insurance and local conditions from the beginning when travel becomes supportable. Add this to your list as a future intention whose timing must be decided by safety, not impatience.
