Visit M Shed in Bristol

a group of boats floating on top of a river

Look out across Bristol’s harbourside, then head inside to explore the people, industries and arguments that shaped the city. M Shed uses objects, stories and working exhibits to make local history feel connected to the streets outside. The museum does not present Bristol as one tidy tale. Transport, trade, protest, migration and everyday life sit alongside difficult parts of the city’s past, giving families plenty to discuss rather than simply admire. General admission is free, although special events may differ. Check current opening information and the status of any working exhibits before travelling. Add this to your list and see the harbour with more of its stories attached.
