Visit Spain

Spain rewards the moment you stop treating it as one destination. A late table in Seville, morning light on Granada’s stone, a crowded market in Madrid and a path above the Atlantic can belong to the same journey while speaking in distinct accents. Choose a coherent route through two or three regions. Link Madrid’s museums with Castilian cities, follow Andalusia through Córdoba, Seville and Granada, explore the greener north by rail and foot, or give one island enough time to become more than a beach. Food, language, architecture and daily rhythms change meaningfully across the country. Book high-demand monuments and long-distance trains ahead, check current FCDO and Schengen entry information, and leave slack for heat, local holidays and transport disruption. Protect yourself from extreme summer temperatures and wildfires, use official ticket sources, and ask individual hotels, stations and heritage sites about step-free routes, toilets and assistance rather than assuming consistent access. Count this complete when you have spent time in at least two contrasting places and allowed ordinary life—a neighbourhood meal, a local train, an evening walk—to sit beside the major sights. Add it because Spain can support many different journeys, and the most memorable version is usually the one with enough focus to notice where you actually are.
