See the Skagit Valley Tulips in Bloom

Rows of bright tulips stretching across Washington’s Skagit Valley.

For a few weeks each spring, broad Skagit Valley fields become bands of colour beneath the Cascade foothills. The exact picture changes with weather and farm schedules, so part of the experience is arriving for a living crop rather than a permanent attraction. Check the official bloom updates and choose participating farms with lawful public entry, tickets and parking. Visit on a quieter weekday if possible, use signed routes, buy from growers where you wish and remember that different fields open and close as agricultural work requires. Never enter private fields, step between rows, pick flowers or stop on road shoulders where prohibited. Expect traffic, mud, rain and limited shelter; wear suitable footwear, protect children near vehicles and confirm firm paths, wheelchairs, toilets and sensory conditions directly with each farm. Drones require explicit permission. Count it complete after seeing tulips in bloom from an authorised farm or public viewpoint while leaving the crop undamaged. Add it if you want a seasonal trip whose uncertainty is part of its charm: colour that has to be met on its own timetable.
