Stand at Land’s End and Follow the Atlantic Coast
At Land’s End the road stops but the landscape keeps going: granite drops toward Atlantic water, seabirds work the wind and the horizon carries the idea of journeys beginning as much as journeys ending. Choose a clear enough day to explore beyond the signpost, using official coast-path information for a short accessible viewpoint visit or a longer walk. Check transport, parking, opening hours, tides and weather, and allow Cornwall’s narrow roads more time than the map suggests. Stay behind barriers and well back from cliff edges, especially in wind, rain or poor visibility. Wear footwear with grip, supervise children and dogs, and never descend an unofficial path or approach unstable rock. Check accessible parking, gradients and surfaces before travelling. Count it complete after reaching the headland safely and spending time with the coast rather than only taking the standard photograph.
