Wear a Wig for a Day

A wig can alter the face you think you know in a matter of seconds. A different colour, texture or shape changes the outline in the mirror, and the day begins with the small, interesting question of whether anyone else will respond differently too. Choose something you genuinely want to try, from a subtle change to a deliberate piece of theatre. Practise fitting it at home, then build the day around somewhere you can relax: lunch with a friend, a gallery, a party or simply familiar errands with an unfamiliar silhouette. Use a clean, well-fitting wig cap if helpful and avoid adhesives unless they are designed for skin and you have checked the instructions. Stop if the scalp becomes sore, hot or irritated. Secure long hair comfortably, keep the wig away from flames and high heat, and explain any consent boundaries before photographs are shared. Count this complete after wearing the wig for a meaningful part of an ordinary or social day. Add it if you want a low-stakes experiment in style and identity, with the freedom to discover that the most convincing version may not be the most enjoyable one.
